SHLD (speak ‘shield’) is the first platform from CISOs for CISOs, focusing on the key challenges of our time – AI security, OT security, quantum readiness and geopolitical cyber risks – and is based in one of Europe’s largest economic and logistics hubs: Hamburg.
Shield it – shield IT!
SHLD helps business and security leaders tackle today’s key cyber security challenges.
The event is driven by peer exchange and real-world experience, with practical insights shared by practitioners for practitioners.
CISO-led, not vendor-led.
The agenda is shaped by CISOs and security leaders from leading companies, institutions, and public authorities, ensuring content that is relevant, credible, and free from sales pitches.
SHLD exists because the future of cybersecurity will be shaped by three defining challenges: AI security, OT security, and quantum readiness. As cyber-attacks become autonomous, critical infrastructure is increasingly at risk, and quantum computing threatens today's encryption, organizations need more than traditional IT security discussions. SHLD brings together leaders to address the risks that matter most for the resilience of industry, economies, and society. Hosted in Hamburg, one of Europe's key industrial and logistics hubs, SHLD provides a unique platform to prepare for the next era of cybersecurity.
SIDE-KICK TO GSIS
Linking cybersecurity and geopolitical security
As the inaugural event is organised under the umbrella of the Global Security & Innovation Summit (GSIS), it effectively links cybersecurity issues with topics such as
This sets the event apart from conferences that consider cybersecurity issues in isolation.
The SHLD conference takes place on Wednesday December 9, 2026, in hall D of the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg - one of Europe’s largest, most leading-edge convention centers. The presentation language will be English.
Call for speakers is open.

„In the Frontier AI Era: Your controls are still in place - is your protection?”
Richard Peddi, Group CISO at Proalpha and creator of MRIS
Which of your security controls still protect you when attackers operate at machine speed? Presentation of a reassessment of all 93 ISO/IEC 27002 controls and 13 targeted hardening controls for the frontier AI era. Discover where protection can erode, what to prioritise, and how to make resilience measurable within your existing.
„Too slow, too sudden, too late - how AI, OT and Quantum are outrunning the Rulebook”
Katharina Blaeser, Head of the Data Protection & ICT Risk Management, Donner & Reuschel
Regulatory frameworks are failing to keep pace with technological progress and are therefore failing to provide a secure framework for development, including the necessary consequences.

„Defending the Plant Floor at Machine Speed: Bridging the divide between executive cyber mandates and zero-downtime physical systems”
Konrad Czyzewski, Team Lead OT Security, AIRBUS Protect Germany
In industrial environments, rebooting critical systems for software updates often isn’t an option—yet unpatched vulnerabilities leave production lines exposed to modern cyber threats. Virtual patching resolves this operational dilemma by blocking exploit attempts at the network perimeter without touching underlying legacy code or triggering plant downtime. Gain valuable insights into the fundamental challenges of closing security gaps alongside continuous production demands and compliance goals.

„The Quantum Threat: Why act now?”
Since the seminal work of Shor in the 1990s, we know that a large-scale stable quantum computer can be used to break RSA and ECC, the two foundational pillars of deployed public-key cryptography. Finding alternatives is only the first of a series of challenges to making our digital communication quantum-safe. The battle is currently at the deployment stage, which historically has been underestimated both in its complexity and ability to stretch in time. This talk is a call to action: we outline the challenges and give recommendations for how the migration to post-quantum cryptography can be initiated today.

The modernized and upgraded CCH – Congress Center Hamburg enthralls visitors with its light-flooded modern architecture, expertly designed room concepts and state-of-the-art AV systems. It sets new standards in terms of location, flexibility and individuality. As soon as you set foot into the new entry area you get a foretaste of the unique character of this building – a magnificent impression that continues to build as you walk through the generously-dimensioned entrance hall and Belvedere. Throughout the CCH, an innovative lighting system provides perfect lighting conditions by day and night.
